Looking back: Conference on “Politics and Paradise”

Dr. Philipp Hildmann (at the lectern, HSS) and Prof. Dr. Georges Tamer (BaFID) opened the conference in the Orangery.

Under the heading “Politics and Paradise – Religious and Secular Promises of Salvation as a Political Challenge to Western Democracies”, BaFID and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS) organized an expert conference at the Orangery in Erlangen. Speakers from FAU, the Central European University, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and LMU Munich shed light on the topic from various perspectives. The event was moderated by academics from FAU, the University of Würzburg and the University of Frankfurt.

Interior and Integration Minister Joachim Herrmann also took part in the opening.
