Call for applications: BCJ. Bavaria Study Prize

One of the core tasks of BCJ.Bayern e.V. is to support and promote academic work in the field of Christian-Jewish dialog. This year we are therefore once again awarding the BCJ.Bayern Study Prize: With this award, we are recognizing outstanding work on topics of Christian-Jewish dialogue that has been produced at Bavarian schools, colleges and universities over the past two years. The award ceremony will take place in Nuremberg in summer 2025.

We look forward to receiving your work if it can be located in the field of Christian-Jewish dialog, was submitted in Bavaria in 2023 or 2024 and was rated “good” or “very good”.

Prizes are awarded in three categories:

  • School: Seminar papers in a W-/P-Seminar (Gymnasium), seminar papers (FOS/BOS)
  • University I: Bachelor’s/Master’s theses, Master’s theses, diploma theses, 1st/2nd state examination (teaching profession), 1st/2nd church examination (parish ministry)
  • University II: Doctoral theses, habilitations

BCJ. Bayern encourages submissions from all subject areas: In the “School” category, the subjects of Protestant / Catholic / Israelite religious education, history and German are particularly in focus; in the “University” category, the disciplines of Protestant / Catholic theology, religious education, religious studies and Jewish studies. Of course, interdisciplinary works will also be accepted. The prize will be awarded at a ceremony in Nuremberg in spring 2025.
