Religion und gesellschaftlicher Zusammenhalt
Date: 3. May 2025Time: 16:00 – 17:00Location: Jüdisches Museum Franken Königstraße 89 90762 Fürth
As part of the festival "Fürth Celebrates Diversity" (April 26 – May 11), Prof. Dr. Georges Tamer, Director of the Bavarian Research Center for Interreligious Discourses (BaFID), will give a lecture on Religion and Integration.
Religion can play a crucial role in the integration of migrants, as many newcomers come from religiously influenced societies. Integration efforts should therefore take migrants' religious values into account to foster a sense of belonging in their new homeland and strengthen social cohesion. Successful integration, which accepts and appreciates religious and cultural differences, is essential for the preservation of democracy.
The lecture will explore various aspects of this topic and examine how religious values can be reconciled with the principles of a secular society.
All interested individuals are warmly invited to attend the lecture and join the discussion with Prof. Dr. Tamer afterward.
